The Pomperaug Health District monitors a wide variety of available
statistics regarding the health status of our communities. Information
available includes reportable diseases, birth and death records,
and cancer incidence data from the Connecticut Tumor Registry.
The chart below is a comparison of the total births, deaths
and associated rates for the towns of the Pomperaug Health District.
The Pomperaug Health District has a substantially lower birth
rate than the State of Connecticut. Also of interest is the
higher death rate for the town of Southbury.
