Septic
system inspection. |
Since most of the land area served by the Health District utilizes septic systems and private wells, much of our workload is in this important area of public health. All construction, whether new or additions, must be approved by District staff for compliance with Health Code requirements. In the case of a new house, this involves deep soil and percolation tests, septic plan approval, septic system inspection, well site approval, and drinking water review and sampling. Additionally, the District, in coordination with local Planning and Zoning Commissions, approves all sites for drinking water wells and septic systems.
