Public Swimming Pools – Required First Aid Kit Contents

The Connecticut Public Health Code requires that all public swimming pools have a Red Cross 24 unit first aid kit or equivalent. The following is a list of what should be included in this kit:

4 boxes – 40” Triangular bandages

2 boxes – 1” Adhesive compress (band aids) 16 per box

2 boxes – 2” Bandage compress

2 boxes – 3” Bandage compress

2 boxes – 4” Bandage compress

1 box – 3”x3” Plain gauze pads

2 boxes Gauze roller bandage

1 box Eye dressing packet

4 boxes - 1/2 sq yd Plain absorbent pad

2 boxes – 24”x72” Plain absorbent gauze

1 box Tourniquet, scissors, tweezers

In addition, the first aid kit should utilize a backboard with ties, a list of emergency phone numbers, 2 blankets, and paper cups.
