Do I Need A
Temporary Food Permit?
Situations
when you need a temporary food service permit:
·
Any event where the public is allowed entry and food is
being served.
For example:
·
Church dinners
·
Fairs
·
Fundraiser events
·
Game dinners open to the public
·
Community organization’s suppers and breakfasts
·
Any commercial establishment (restaurant, itinerant
vendors, etc…) which will be serving food to the public.
Situations
when you do not need a temporary food service permit:
· If the event is open only to members of an organization or congregation and not the general public.
For example:
· Church pot luck suppers
· Game dinners for club members only
·
If only non-potentially hazardous foods
(cookies, desserts without cream fillings, etc…) are being served such as a bake
sale or a school sporting event where pre-packaged snacks (potato chips, candy, etc…) are served.
