What do these numbers mean?

Total Cholesterol: LDL Cholesterol:
Desirable less than 200 mg/dl Desirable less than 130 mg/dl
Borderline-high 200 - 239 mg/dl Borderline-high 130 — 159 mg/dl
High 240 mg/dl and over High 160 mg/dl or higher
   
HDL Cholesterol: Triglycerides:  
Must be a fasting test  
Desirable > 60 mg/dl  
Too Low less than 35 mg/dl Desirable less than 200 mg/dl
Borderline-high 200 — 400 mg/dl  
High 400 — 1000 mg/dl  
Very High over 1000 mg/dl  
   
Cholesterol Ratio (Total cholesterol to HDL): Glucose:
(Total Cholesterol # ÷ HDL #) Fasting test (no food or drink for > 8 hours)
Optimum 3.5 to 1 or less Elevated > 110 mg/dl  
High 5.0 to 1 or more  
   
Glucose  
Blood Pressure: Random test (food or drink < 8 hours before test)
Elevated >140 mg/dl  
Optimal < 120 / 80 mm Hg  
Normal < 130 / 85 mm Hg  
High-Normal 130-139 / 85-89 mm Hg  
High >140 / 90 mm Hg  

Please note that the values obtained in a screening test do not constitute a diagnosis. You should see a doctor for follow-up if any of your screening values are in the high or elevated range.
