BLOOD PRESSURE SERVICES

Blood Pressure Services

Blood pressure screenings are offered on a walk-in basis and are free of charge. Each year over 1000 readings are completed.

In Oxford, they are on the first Monday of the month at the Town Hall. In Southbury, they are held on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Town Hall. In Woodbury the clinics are held every Tuesday at the Senior Center.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SELF CARE PROGRAM

As part of a Preventive Health Block Grant, the Health District periodically offers a High Blood Pressure Self-Care Program. It is a six-session program that emphasized the importance of a healthy life-style and preventive care. Various health professionals, including a pharmacist, a registered dietitian, a licensed professional counselor and our public health nurse, teach participants the skills they need to maintain or gain control of their blood pressure levels.
