Baby Sitting Hints

For Sitters:

  • Never open the door for a stranger.
  • Be ready and prepared for an emergency.
  • Never leave the children unattended.
  • Ask the parents about foods and medicines.
  • Have a list of emergency numbers in case of emergency.

For Parents:

  • Tell the sitter where you will be and how to reach you in case of emergency.
  • Tell the sitter what time to expect you home.
  • Meet the babysitter and check the references in advance.
  • Have the sitter spend some time with you and the child before you leave for the evening.
  • Provide the sitter with a schedule for your children meals and sleep.
  • Show the babysitter around the house and make sure they know where the emergency supplies, such as first aid suppiles and flashlight, are located.
  • Make certain the babysitter is mature enough to handle the responsibilities of your childs care.
