For
Sitters:
- Never open the door for a stranger.
- Be ready and prepared for an emergency.
- Never leave the children unattended.
- Ask the parents about foods and medicines.
- Have a list
of emergency numbers in case of emergency.
For
Parents:
- Tell the sitter where you will be and how to reach you in case
of emergency.
- Tell the sitter what time to expect you home.
- Meet the babysitter and check the references in advance.
- Have the sitter spend some time with you and the child before you
leave for the evening.
- Provide the sitter with a schedule for your children meals and
sleep.
- Show the babysitter around the house and make sure they know where
the emergency supplies, such as first aid suppiles and flashlight,
are located.
- Make certain the babysitter is mature enough to handle the responsibilities
of your childs care.
